Sausage, Apple and Cranberry Stuffing
A delicious Thanksgiving Stuffing
Ingredients for Sausage, Apple and Cranberry Stuffing:
This recipe will stuff a 10 lb turkey:
- 1 lb ground Turkey sausage
- 2 onions, chopped
- 1 apple, cored and chopped
- 1 cup dried cranberries
- 3 slices cubed whole wheat bread
- 8 slices cubed white bread
- salt and ground black pepper to taste
- 3,5 oz - 100g celery, chopped
- 1 cup - 250ml turkey or chicken stock
- 2 tsp dried sage
- 4 tbsp olive oil
- ½ tsp dried thyme
- 1½ tsp dried rosemary
How to make Sausage, Apple and Cranberry Stuffing:
Preheat oven to 356°F - 180°C.
Spread the whole wheat and white bread cubes in a single layer on a large baking sheet.
Bake in the preheated oven until evenly toasted.
Transfer toasted bread cubes to a large bowl.
In a large skillet, cook the sausage and onions over medium heat, stirring and breaking up the lumps until evenly browned.
Add the celery, sage, rosemary and thyme.
Cook, stirring, for 2 minutes to blend flavors.
Pour sausage mixture over bread in bowl. Mix in dried cranberries and chopped apple.
Drizzle with turkey stock and olive oil, and mix lightly.
Allow stuffing to cool completely before loosely stuffing a turkey.
