Easy winter recipe to make your own Stew with tasty Sausage, Bacon and Brussels Sprouts.
1 tablespoon smalt
1 lb -450gr smoked bacon
1 clove of garlic
1 lb -450 g sprouts
2 lb - 900 g potatoes
2 ½ cup - 6 dl
2 bay leaves
some sprigs of thyme
4 smoked sausages
Melt the smalt in a large pot on the fire.
Cut the bacon into large pieces and fry them in the hot melt.
Peel and roughly chop the onions. Do the same with the parsnip. Let them fry with the bacon.
Peel and crush a clove of garlic and put it in the pot.
Rinse the Brussels sprouts and halve them. Let them stew with the other vegetables.
Peel the potatoes and cut into large pieces. Let them also bake in the pot.
Moisten everything with the chicken broth.
Season with bay leaf and thyme.
Put the lid on the pot and let it simmer for 15 minutes on the fire.
Shake occasionally with the pot back and forth so that the vegetables, bacon and potatoes form a whole.
Cut the smoked sausages into pieces and stir them under the stew.
Let the lid off and let the remaining liquid boil.
Put the stew with smoked sausage in a deep plate or a bowl.
Serve with a dash of mustard.
